DVMJessica KleinVeterinarian and Practice Owner
Dr. Jessica Klein is a Sonoma County native, growing up in Healdsburg from the age of 7. She completed her B.S in Animal Science with a minor in Chemistry and Biology and graduated cum laude from Chico State University. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis in 2008 and promptly moved back to Sonoma County where she has been working ever since. Dr. Klein has a wide interest in animal species and has worked on farm animals, equine, reptiles, avian, zoo animals and pocket pets. She has found that her passion is working on clients furry family members though.
In 2015 Dr. Klein and Dr. Carter collaborated together to dream-up and build Wine Country Veterinary Hospital; which is set to open August 1st 2016.
In her free time Dr. Klein loves playing with her 3 kids, running, cooking, relaxing with a glass of red wine and a good book. She also will never pass up snuggling on the couch with her husband and orange tabby cat Krush and Lhasa Apso mix Bee while watching a movie.
Dr. Matthew Carter wanted to be a veterinarian from a very early age. He graduate of UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1995, after first attending Long Beach City College and California State University Long Beach. Post-graduation he has also served on the Santa Rosa Junior College Registered Veterinary Technician Advisory Committee as well as teaching veterinary technology courses at SRJC.
He has worked in both large and small animal areas including large dairies, beef and some equine practice, small and exotic pets, on-call emergency duty and general family pet practice. He realized that he most enjoyed meeting other members of his community and helping them with the health and needs of their furry family members. He is co-owner of Petaluma's Central Animal Hospital where he has repeatedly been voted the best veterinarian by the local community, as well as the Best of the North Bay Sonoma County veterinarian by the readers of the Bohemian.
Dr. Carter is a California native and spent some years in various locations including the Central Valley, the East Bay, Half Moom Bay, Orange County and London, England before settling in Petaluma in 2002. Dr. Carter has lived and worked in Petaluma since that time, along with his wife and twin daughters, cat Mylo and dog Elsie.
Dr. Carter is very active in his community from serving on the Petaluma Animal Services board, the Petaluma River Craft Beer festival board, he is an honorary member of the Petaluma Valley Rotary Club and a founding member of the Petaluma Moonrise Club. He has served as president of the Redwood Empire Veterinary Medical Association and has served on the Sonoma County Animal Welfare Advisory Committee. He has given many classroom lectures through the shelter's Humane Education program. He is very excited about getting to know the Windsor community through working at Wine Country Veterinary Hospital and is honored to have partnered with Dr. Klein as a co- owner.
Dr. Carter loves to explore the food and wine opportunities throughout Sonoma County. He also likes to barbeque for family and friends, explore new flavors and if he can find any free time he loves to brew his own beer. He is an outdoor enthusiast where swimming, hiking and bicycling are his favorite ways to get exercise.
SamanthaPatient Care Representative
Samantha was born in San Francisco and grew up in Windsor. She graduated from Healdsburg High and went on to study at the SRJC. She has been caring for animals since a young age and has had many pets ranging from iguanas, chinchillas, dogs, cats, snakes and chickens. Sami has worked in the veterinary field since 2011 and joined Wine Country Veterinary Hospital in July 2016 (right before our grand opening)! Sami comes from a large close-knit family and has 2 brothers, a sister and 4 nieces under the age of ten.
Sami is a huge fan of the 49er football team so in her spare time enjoys rooting on her team, spending time with her family and working on her classic car---a 1967 black Impala. Sami continues to attend the SRJC and constantly strives to improve her veterinary knowledge and skills by working towards obtaining her RVT.
MollyPatient Care Representative
Molly was born and raised in Windsor CA. She graduated from Windsor High in 2011 and immediately got a job at a veterinary hospital in Santa Rosa where she began pursuing a career in Veterinary medicine. She started working at WCVH in September 2016 and is looking forward to continuing her education and obtaining her RVT. Molly knew at a young age that animals were her passion and her enthusiasm and passion for them continues to grow every day. She loves all animals and has been so happy to have some great dogs, along with cats, rats, snakes, and other slithery pets. Molly had 8 wonderful years with the love of her life, her King Charles Spaniel Cooper, who sadly passed away in May 2016 and is profoundly missed. She has however been lucky enough to work with her mother Lee-Ann at both hospitals and she is very close to her parents and two awesome brothers.
Molly spends her free time with her amazing boyfriend Zac at home. They are both big fans of the Boston Red Sox and love going to games when they are in town. Molly also likes to spend her Sundays rooting on her Minnesota Vikings and hoping they finally make it to a Superbowl. Molly is very excited about being a part of the WCVH team and can't wait to see where this journey takes her.
Lee AnnManager and Customer Care Representative
Lee-Ann has been a happy Windsor resident since 1995 and absolutely loves the small home-town feel it has given to her and her family and takes pride in her town. She has been married for 29 years to a great man named Craig, who has put up with her and all of the animals she has fostered and raised over the years. Along with pets they have raised three children that have all gone to the Windsor school district and they have been actively involved in sports. She currently has three pets, Jac, Fuzz and Carly. Jac is a 2016 model that I rescued from Iowa. He is a schnauzer/ poodle cross and he has added so much joy and laughter to their house. Fuzz was born in 2007 and is a male orange tabby that is loved by everyone that meets him. Carly is a female that was born in 2006 and is a calico… and has all the ‘calico’ personality traits that they are known for. Both cats were adopted after fostering them as bottle babies.
Lee-Ann has worked in the veterinary field on some level since 1990 and loves it! She started working for Wine Country Veterinary Hospital July 2016 as a receptionist and we feel lucky to have her. She is very excited about working in such a beautiful, local community can caring for both the pets and their people.
MelodyCustomer Care Representative and Patient Care Representative
Melody was born and raised here in Sonoma Country. She is one of six kids and between them all she has had the privilege of raising and loving all kinds of pets through her life ranging from tadpole, hamsters, doves, rats, chickens, cats and dogs. Currently she and her husband have a loved and spoiled dog named Trooper.
Melody started working for Wine Country Veterinary Hospital July 2016 and is one of our many friendly faces of WCVH. Though Melody has never worked for a veterinarian before her love for pets and her desire to care for them (and their owners) shines through in everything that she does.
MaryPatient Care Representative
Mary was born in San Francisco and grew up in East Bay. She moved to Sonoma County in 2005 and has loved the slow paced friendly atmosphere. She has always loved animals and grew up with many different pets including snakes, dogs, cats hamsters and birds. She enjoys the outdoors and spends her free time hiking, camping and fishing.
Mary began attended Santa Rosa Junior College in the fall of 2013 and has received her Veterinary Assistant Certificate. She is looking forward to sitting for her Veterinary Technician Board Exams this year. Mary joined the Wine Country Veterinary hospital team January of 2018 and enjoys every aspect of her job as a Veterinary Technician Assistant and loves coming to work. Mary lives in Cloverdale with her husband and two dogs, Winnie, Savvy and her cat Sharpie.
CrystaPatient Care Representative
Crysta was born and raised in Cloverdale, CA but has made Windsor her new home town. From a very
young age she has had a passion for animals, always bringing home strays asking her parents the famous line “can we keep it?” Crysta has had a variety of pets, ranging from frogs, chickens, turtles, dogs, and fish. Crysta currently has six fur babies; three dogs: Mater, Abby and Nova and three cats: Keetra, Motor and Oscar.
Crysta has been working as a Veterinary Assistant since 2015 and joined the Wine Country Veterinary Hospital family in December 2017. She is currently in the process of obtaining her RVT license.
Crysta loves the outdoors, so you might see her hiking around Sonoma County’s beautiful regional parks with her happy pups or kayaking and fishing with her boyfriend Alfredo.
