    Dr. Jessica Klein DVM
    Veterinarian and Practice Owner

    Dr. Jessica Klein is a Sonoma County native, growing up in Healdsburg from the age of 7. She completed her B.S in Animal Science with a minor in Chemistry and Biology and graduated cum laude from Chico State University. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis in 2008 and promptly moved back to Sonoma County where she has been working ever since. Dr. Klein has a wide interest in animal species and has worked on farm animals, equine, reptiles, avian, zoo animals and pocket pets. She has found that her passion is working on clients furry family members though. In 2015 Dr. Klein and Dr. Carter collaborated together to dream-up and build Wine Country Veterinary Hospital; which opened August 1st 2016. In her free time Dr. Klein loves playing with her 3 kids, riding her Peloton, running, cooking, relaxing with a glass of red wine and a good book. She also will never pass up snuggling on the couch with her husband and  black Labrador Castor (and her cats Clark and Smudge) while watching a movie.

    Dr. Kevin Sheehy DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Kevin Sheehy joined the team at WCV in 2018 as an experienced Veterinarian to help take exceptional care of your furry family members. In 2016 —Dr. Sheehy relocated to Sonoma County with his lovely wife Lisa (Certified Sommelier) to be close to family.

    Dr. Sadie Lakin DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Sadie Lakin was born and raised in eastern Pennsylvania. She relocated to California in high
    school and attended UC Davis to obtain her undergraduate degree in animal science. After working as a veterinary technician for three years she started veterinary school on the islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis. After three years of blissful island life she moved back to the mainland for her clinical year of vet school at Colorado State University in Fort Collins CO. and graduated in 2016. Since relocating back to California after graduation she has been working as a general practice veterinarian in Sonoma County. Dr. Lakin enjoys emergency medicine, surgery and internal medicine cases. Outside of work she enjoys crafting, reading, running, snow sports, hiking, camping and spending time with her husband and two little girls.

    Dr. Patrick Cunningham DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr Patrick Cunningham is a Sonoma County Native; growing up in Windsor and attending Santa Rosa High School. He attended UC Davis for his undergraduate degree (Animal Science- B.S.) and graduated from the UC Davis Vet School in Spring of 2021. Dr Patrick moved out to Great Falls, Montana for a year to hone his emergency medicine and surgical skills, but he and his wife (also a veterinarian) missed the beaches and family so moved back to Sonoma County in late 2022. Dr Patrick enjoys internal medicine cases and creating bonds with owners and their animals. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys beach days in Bodega Bay and going for walks with his three-legged dog Watson. Dr Patrick also has two cats (Mama and Loki) and a ball python (Monty).

    Dr. Charlotte Rockwood DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Charlotte Rockwood was born and raised in Sonoma County, growing up with a love of animals and many pets at home - including cats, dogs, turtles, rats, horses and chickens!  She left Sonoma County for the Pacific Northwest to obtain her undergraduate degree, then UC Davis for Veterinary school, followed by a year-long intensive veterinary internship in southern California.  With her training complete, Dr. Charlotte returned home to Sonoma County in 2010 and has been working as a family veterinarian here ever since. She enjoys being a pet's primary care doctor and focuses on preventative care while getting to know her patients (and their people) through every stage of life, with a special interest in helping her patients through their geriatric years.  Dr. Charlotte lives with her husband and two children, their two large rescue dogs, and the queen of the house - her cat, Freya.  When she has free time, Dr. Charlotte loves being outdoors as much as possible, cooking for family and friends, exercising, and caring for her growing houseplant collection.

    Manager and Registered Veterinary Technician

    Samantha was born in San Francisco and grew up in Windsor. She graduated from Healdsburg High and went on to study at the SRJC. She has been caring for animals since a young age and has had many pets ranging from iguanas, chinchillas, dogs, cats, snakes and chickens. Sami has worked in the veterinary field since 2011 and has been licensed since 2019 and joined Wine Country Veterinary Hospital in July 2016 (right before our grand opening)! Sami comes from a large close-knit family and has 2 brothers, a sister and 4 nieces under the age of ten. Sami is a huge fan of the 49er football team so in her spare time enjoys rooting on her team, spending time with her family and working on her classic car---a 1967 black Impala, gardening, and lovin' on her sweet dog, Mr. Bigglesworth.

    Assistant Manager and Registered Veterinary Technician

    Emma is a Sonoma County native with a lifelong love for animals. She participated in 4-H and FFA from the age of 12 through 18, and has been playing softball since she was 5, now continuing in adult leagues throughout the county. In addition to sports, she enjoys horseback riding and barrel racing. Emma graduated from the SRJC Veterinary Technician Program in 2024 and took her RVT certification exam later that year. At home, she shares her life with a Labrador Retriever, a Border Collie, two tabby cats, and a Quarter Horse.

    Susan was born and raised in Sonoma County. She graduated from Santa Rosa High School and raised
    her family on a small ranch in Windsor. Susan has always had many animals and enjoys riding horses, hiking, hunting, fishing and everything outdoors. Susan’s veterinary career started in high school working at a local veterinary hospital. She learned all the ins and outs of pet care and how to handle many different types of situations. She is a bright light full of knowledge and compassion. Susan has three dogs, one cat and three horses. Nala is her 4 pound Papillion that is always by her side. Shiloh is her ranch dog greeting everyone with lots of excitement. Apollo is her Bengal kitty that thinks he is a dog and is king of the ranch. Susan is a people person who enjoys making sure your veterinary experience is only the best. She is one of the smiling faces that will greet you when you come in.

    Kayla grew up in Montreal until she moved to Florida with her mom about 7 years ago. She moved back to Montreal to finish school where she obtained her degree in communications from Vanier College. She moved to California about 3 years ago for a change in scenery and to be closer to family. Kayla has always loved animals, growing up near a farm with horses and small creatures. She adores her small cocker spaniel mix, Marley, and loves finding new places to explore with her. Kayla enjoys spending time with friends and family, walking, art, and cooking. She looks forward to meeting you all and ensuring you always feel welcome!

    Mary grew up in the East Bay and moved to Sonoma County over 15 years ago. She became a licensed RVT in 2020 through the Santa Rosa JC Vet Tech program. Passionate about anesthesia and patient care, Mary treats every animal as if they were her own, always aiming to make their hospital visit as comfortable and positive as possible. She’s loved animals from a young age—volunteering as a Docent at a Zoo and taking every chance to be around animals. Over the years, she’s had many pets and is currently proud dog mom to Winnie (a one-eared senior), Bill (the sweetest girl), and Ollie (her newest rescue). Mary brings humor to the workplace, enjoys being part of the WCVH team, and values the bond between clients and their pets. She’s grateful for the chance to make a difference—whether by easing a pet’s stress or supporting and educating their owners.

    Kim was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She moved to Santa Rosa in 2014 and graduated from Piner High School in 2015. Kim has always loved animals and had a lot of pets growing up including dogs, birds, fish, hamsters, and turtles. Kim went to Santa Rosa Junior College and obtained her Veterinary Technician Certificate and also has her Registered Veterinary Technician License. Kim has been working at Wine Country Veterinary Hospital since February 2019. Not only is Kim wonderful with every animal she assists with, she is creative and detail oriented. In her free time Kim loves to read, travel and hanging out with her family and friends.

    Northern was raised in Sonoma County and graduated from El Molino High School. He has a miniature pinscher mix named Rainey. In his spare time, he enjoys visiting local breweries, listening to live music, hanging out with friends, and experiencing all that Sonoma County has to offer.  Northern started working at Wine Country Veterinary Hospital in 2019 and is an integral and valued member of our team.

    Alejandra, who likes to be called Aly, was born and raised in Sonoma County and graduated from Rancho Cotate High School. Her childhood dream was to work with animals. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family and Fiance. She also enjoys checking out local breweries, going to the beach, and dancing at festivals. She has an Australian Shepherd named Benito (aka Benny). She joined the WCVH team in 2021 and is so excited to be part of the team and takes pride in giving your pets the best care possible, (along with all the kisses!)

    Nasnin (Nas) has worked in the veterinary field since 2018, inspired by a lifelong love for animals sparked by her first kitten. Originally from Los Angeles, she grew up in Sonoma County, where she still lives today. Nas earned her Veterinary Technician Certification from SRJC and is known for her calm, intuitive approach...especially with cats. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her dogs (Nova the corgi and Kira the mutt), traveling, attending festivals, and spending time with her loved ones. A passionate photographer, Nas loves capturing everyday beauty through her lens. Nas has been a member of the WCV team since 2022 and is proud to be part of it.

    Teresa was born and raised in beautiful Sonoma County, she graduated from high school in 2023 and is currently continuing her studies at the Santa Rosa Junior College to pursue her Veterinary Technician license. While she’s never had a pet of her own, Teresa’s love for animals shines through in the time she spends caring for the pets of family and friends—special thanks to her cousin’s pup, Winnie, for happily posing in the photo with her! In her free time, Teresa enjoys reading, hiking local trails with friends, and spending sunny days at the beach with her family. She was thrilled to join the WCVH team in October 2024 and cannot wait to meet all of you!

    Jenny has lived in Windsor her whole life and graduated from Windsor High School. Before deciding to be an RVT, she has earned multiple certificates from the Santa Rosa Junior College, including business, hospitality, and bookkeeping. She is currently working on getting her veterinary technician certificate from the SRJC and studying for her RVT license. Jenny has grown up with animals in the past, including three ferrets and multiple dogs, however currently, she has one crazy Border Collie named Tucker. In her spare time, Jenny enjoys creating art, going on camping trips with her partner and seasonal sports. She has always been intrigued with animals while growing up, choosing to find comfort in animals and hoping to give back by helping pets in need

    Jenna grew up in Windsor, then moved to Santa Rosa and graduated from Maria Carrillo High School. She is currently going to the Santa Rosa Junior College to obtain her veterinary technician certificate and study for her RVT license. She has been around animals her whole life but has always had a special place for cats and exotics. Jenna provides a loving home for many animals, including her three cats, Tatum, Nora and Fawna. In her free time, she loves to explore Sonoma County with friends and work with her exotics. She looks forward to providing the most quality care for you and your loved ones! Jenna started in April 2024 and we are glad to have her on our team!

    Sabrina grew up in Santa Rosa and is currently a Senior at Maria Carrillo High School. During the summer of 2021 she began shadowing surgeries at WCVH and volunteering as a Junior Camp Counselor for the Humane Society of Sonoma County. Over the past 5 years, Sabrina has volunteered over 400 hours for the Humane Society and even won Heart of Sonoma County Youth Volunteer of the Year for 2024. During the summer of 2024 she spent 2 weeks at Iowa State University for an Ag Discovery program. Sabrina is really grateful to have been a part of the WCVH team for the past 3 years. She has always had a special place in her heart for animals and is very excited for her new chapter as a Veterinary Assistant.

    Riley has lived in Healdsburg her whole life and graduated from Healdsburg High School in 2025. She is currently working toward her veterinary technician certificate at SRJC and studying for her RVT license. Riley has always been around animals, including dogs, cats, and a variety of livestock. In her spare time, she enjoys camping trips, seasonal paddleboarding, and spending time with her family. She has always been passionate about working with animals, having raised market swine in 4-H and FFA for nine years. Riley is happy to be helping the pets in our community and excited to be part of the team!

    Dexter comes from a family of veterinary practitioners and has been in vet hospitals and around animal care since early childhood. He originally hails from Nevada County, where he first grew to love animals at the family veterinary hospital of For the Love of Pets, and meeting the many wild animals of his rural hometown. In 2020, Dexter moved to Sonoma County to be closer to his extended family and pursue a career working with the animals about whom he is so passionate, achieving his RVT certification in 2025. He believes deeply in the importance and value of caring for the beloved pets who brighten our lives. When not working, Dexter and his wife enjoy quiet days at home with their cats, fantasy novels, and table-top roleplaying games.
